Dr. Freeberg is a postdoctoral therapist at CORE. She graduated and earned her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  Prior to joining CORE, Dr. Freeberg most recently worked at Bowen Mental Health Center working with individuals across the lifespan who struggled with substance use, trauma, and a range of diagnoses such as depression and anxiety. She also completed psychological assessments for DCFS, parenting risk evaluations, and ADHD evaluations. Dr. Freeberg received her Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and her Master’s degree from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology.  

Dr. Freeberg has clinical experience working in adolescent residential centers, inpatient hospitals, college counseling, therapeutic day schools, and community mental health centers. She has worked with all ages of clients and a wide range of clinical presentations and concerns. Dr. Freeberg’s clinical interests include working with marginalized and minoritized communities, addressing ranges of traumatic experiences, relationship and family difficulties, mood disorders, substance use, and challenges with self-confidence or identity. She approaches her clients within a systems lens, exploring all the connections one has in their life, as well as integrates feminist and interpersonal approaches that put the client’s unique experiences into focus. She is an advocate and values creating a safe space for all on the LGBTQIA+ spectrum. She works from an integrative approach with her clients to ensure they remain the leader of their therapy experience and receive treatment specialized to their needs and goals.
