Synia Agnew is a graduate student in the Clinical Psy.D program at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. She received her B.S in Psychology from Roosevelt University. Her passion for psychology has a foundation in understanding the nuances of intersectionality to help assist in the competent care of individuals. She works with children, adolescents and adults at CORE.
Synia has experience working with Rush University Medical Center, the Center of Excellence. This organization focuses on harm-reducing services for individuals who struggle with substance use disorder. In her role here, she gave a presentation within the Chicago Public School system on drug use prevention and interventions on the south and west sides of Chicago. Synia has also been involved in multiple research opportunities revolving around marginalized and underprivileged communities, including but not limited to investigating barriers to competent care for individuals who have a substance use disorder and exploring how students can engage in powerful autonomy integrated within college culture.
